Dr. Sana Makhdoom completed her internal medicine residency training at the University of Illinois in Chicago in 2011. She worked as an internist in North Carolina after which she joined Emory University in Atlanta, GA for fellowship training in Rheumatology. During her fellowship she was exposed to a wide range of rheumatological diseases and connective tissue disorders. She also had the opportunity to be trained by one of the best and renowned rheumatologists of USA at Emory. She then moved to Delaware and practiced at the Rheumatology Center of Delaware until early 2018. She and her husband Dr. Syed Waseem Ahmed, a Nephrologist, and two children relocated to LaGrange, GA. She has been with LaGrange Internal Medicine since December 2018.
Dr. Makhdoom enjoys a patient centered approach when it comes to treating these complex diseases. Her empathy towards the patients with profound understanding of the science behind the disease process gives her a unique ability to provide excellent quality care and relief to her patients
